As we all know Tobacco Day is celebrated on 31st May. There is definitely some activity related to this in every school. Children of the NCC group of Sapience School in Herbertpur along with their teachers held a rally. They had come out on 31 May 2022 in the morning, then marched towards the market making people aware of eating any wrong things and showing a new direction to our new generation. People were very happy to see this work of the children and how they took out a rally and made people aware. A teacher leading the rally was asked what is your motive for taking out this rally.

They said “World NO Tobacco Day” and it is about what individuals and communities can do to help keep young people tobacco free, or help them quit for good using any kind of tobacco product is unsafe, especially for kids, teens, and young adults”.

WHO (World Health Organization) created World No Tobacco Day in 1987 to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable death and disease it causes. The day is further intended to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to more than 8 million deaths each year worldwide, including 1.2 million as the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke. The day has been met with both enthusiasm and resistance around the globe from governments, public health organizations, smokers, growers, and the tobacco industry.

More than half of people in the world that currently use tobacco products reported that they were seriously thinking about quitting the use of all tobacco products. Quitting as soon as possible is the healthiest choice for the mind and body. These children have done good work in order to make people aware however it matters only if people get their message on the large scale.
